In a deeply disturbing case from Indiana, a 5-year-old girl has tragically died after her own father allegedly strangled her to death during a fit of rage directed at his ex-girlfriend. The accused, 41-year-old Z. Arnold, is now facing murder and neglect charges following the horrific incident that occurred on May 13.
What Happened?
Emergency responders were called to the family’s home just after 11 a.m., where they found the young girl unresponsive with visible signs of trauma. Arnold initially told authorities that his daughter had fallen down the stairs, but under police questioning, he eventually admitted to killing her.
According to court documents, Arnold confessed to choking his daughter multiple times the night before. He admitted that his actions were fueled by anger towards his ex-girlfriend. Even after hearing his daughter cry and say “I love you very much” and ask “Why did you hurt me?”, Arnold failed to seek help. Instead, he allowed her to go to bed and did not check on her again.
