Montgomery County, MD – An 80-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife during an argument at a senior living facility. The incident took place at Leisure World, a community for senior citizens, on July 5.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department, officers arrived at the apartment and found 78-year-old Beverly Fletcher with multiple stab wounds and what appeared to be blunt force trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cause of Death
An autopsy later revealed that Fletcher’s cause of death was multiple sharp force injuries, and her death was ruled a homicide.
The Alleged Attack
Police contacted Fletcher’s husband, Vivian Nation, inside the apartment. Nation reportedly told authorities that he and his wife got into an argument about an issue with his doctor.
During the altercation, Nation allegedly said he pushed Fletcher to the ground and then pressed a hammer against her throat.
Officers reportedly found a hammer, knife, and screwdriver inside the apartment, with Nation’s blood on them.
Charges and Arrest
Vivian Nation was arrested and is facing a charge of first-degree murder for the death of his wife.
