Shreveport-Bossier Casinos Hit One-Year Revenue High in March 2025

SHREVEPORT, LA – In a time when many are feeling the pressure of inflation and rising prices, Louisiana’s casino industry is showing unexpected strength. The casinos in Shreveport and Bossier City are leading the charge, with March 2025 recording their highest revenue in a full year.

Gambling Remains Strong Despite Economic Concerns

Across the U.S., many families are cutting back on spending. Yet in Louisiana, gambling is booming. According to the American Gaming Association, Louisiana is one of only four states where gambling revenues have increased this year.

Economist James Klass mentioned that while there’s concern about a possible recession, gambling still seems to attract people — possibly as a way to cope with financial stress or try their luck at winning big quickly.

Louisiana’s Casino Industry at a Glance

Louisiana is home to several commercial and tribal casinos, providing jobs to more than 44,000 people. The gambling industry brings in around $1.3 billion in taxes each year for the state.

With nearly $500 million in total gambling revenue already recorded in 2025, Louisiana currently ranks eighth in the nation in terms of gambling income. That’s a strong position, especially considering economic uncertainties nationwide.

In comparison, Caesar’s Casino in New Orleans brought in $30 million in March 2025, which was slightly down from $30.6 million in February.
