Recipient of the March Teacher Spotlight Awards Announced

Each month, News Channel 6 and WFISD recognize an outstanding educator with the Teacher Spotlight Award. This month’s well-deserved recipient is Melanie Wolfe, an instructional coach at Kate Burgess Elementary.

A Mentor and Encouragement to Others

Wolfe was nominated by the school’s principal, who praised her dedication, mentorship, and positive impact on both teachers and students.

Her colleagues also shared their admiration, calling her an amazing mentor and someone who encourages and uplifts those around her.

Despite her recognition, Wolfe admitted she was completely shocked to receive the award, as she has only been at Kate Burgess Elementary for less than a year.

“I’m in total shock because this is my first year on this campus. My other years have been at another campus, so this is my first year and trying to get my feet, you know, familiar with all of the teachers and the students. That has been a challenge this year. But it’s very rewarding. Very, very rewarding,” Wolfe said.

Recognizing Excellence in Education

The Teacher Spotlight Award highlights exceptional educators who go above and beyond for their students and fellow teachers. Wolfe’s recognition proves that her dedication and passion for education have made a lasting impact in a short amount of time.

Congratulations to Melanie Wolfe on this well-earned honor!
