You Won't Make It to Wednesday Florida Father Shot His Three Sons During a Fight Over a Car Then Threatened to Kill Them After His Arrest, Cops Say

In a shocking and disturbing case from Florida, a 36-year-old man, identified as Christopher Lee Brown, has been arrested and charged with multiple serious crimes after allegedly shooting his three sons during a family dispute over a car.

The incident occurred in Ruskin, Hillsborough County, on Sunday morning around 11:15 a.m., when deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the neighborhood.

All Three Boys Survive Gunshot Injuries

Police found all three of Brown’s sons injured from gunshots when they arrived at the scene. Thankfully, the boys were rushed to a nearby hospital, and authorities confirmed that none of their injuries were life-threatening. Their names and ages have not been released due to their age.

What Led to the Shooting?

According to court documents reported by local news outlet WTVT, the altercation started over an argument about a family car. Investigators said Brown got into a heated argument with his sons, which turned violent.

One of the boys was reportedly hit on the head with a gun, which accidentally discharged, causing a bullet to graze his jawline and hit his earlobe. Brown then attempted to flee in his car, but as the other two boys chased after him, he allegedly fired multiple shots at them as well.

Alarming Audio Message From the Father

In a particularly chilling discovery, police say one of the boys played a voice recording from Brown to investigators. In the message, Brown reportedly said:

“I tried to take your life.”
“You won’t make it to Wednesday.”

Authorities believe this message is clear evidence of intent to kill, adding more weight to the charges against him.

List of Serious Charges Filed

Brown is now facing a long list of felony charges, including:

  • Two counts of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm
  • Three counts of aggravated battery with great bodily harm or deadly weapon
  • Three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
  • Being a felon in possession of a firearm
  • Discharging a firearm in a public or residential area
  • Two counts of burglary of an occupied dwelling
  • Resisting an officer without violence
  • Criminal mischief (damage between $200 and $1,000)

Due to the seriousness of the charges, the state attorney’s office has filed a motion to keep Brown in custody until trial.
