Texas – A 22-year-old woman, identified as D. Rodgers, has been arrested and charged with a second-degree felony in connection with an alleged improper relationship involving a 17-year-old male student. The charge, filed earlier this week, follows a series of investigative findings dating back to late March.
How the Investigation Began
According to Texas authorities, the investigation was launched when an anonymous student alerted school officials to an alleged sexual relationship between Rodgers and the minor. As part of the report, the student provided a voicemail recording in which Rodgers admitted to sending explicit photos to the student.
Further inquiries revealed that Rodgers had been working at a local store, where she allegedly interacted with multiple co-workers, some of whom were also high school students. Although she was not employed by the school, her presence around students led to serious concerns.
Student Initially Denied Relationship
When first questioned by investigators, the 17-year-old male student denied the allegations. However, upon being shown text messages related to a contraceptive pill and a payment receipt, he admitted to having an encounter with Rodgers.
Rodgers initially described their relationship as a “big sister-little brother” bond, but later admitted to engaging in a sexual act with the student inside his vehicle, in a public parking lot.
Digital Evidence Uncovered
A forensic analysis of Rodgers’ phone uncovered:
- Text conversations discussing the relationship.
- Evidence of the student sending her money via a digital payment app.
- A video of Rodgers taking a contraceptive pill.
- A receipt confirming the pill purchase.
- Messages to a friend in which Rodgers allegedly described a past relationship with another underage student.
This evidence was key in building the case against her.
School District Responds
The school principal, Mr. Vincent, sent a letter to families, clarifying important details:
“The alleged incident did not happen on school property, during school hours, or at any school-sponsored activity.”
He also confirmed that Rodgers was not an employee of the school, and she was immediately removed from campus once the district learned of the allegations.
Legal Proceedings
Rodgers was booked into the county jail on May 16 and released the next day on a $20,000 bond. She is currently scheduled to appear in court for a pre-indictment hearing on June 4, 2025.
