A 48-year-old Colorado parent, B. DiagIe, was fatally shot by his child’s mother, 43-year-old R. Allen, during a custody exchange in Louisiana. Allen was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Details of the Incident

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. at a Louisiana residence where the custody exchange was scheduled. Deputies responding to reports of gunfire found DiagIe deceased at the scene.

Authorities said the victim had traveled from Colorado to Louisiana to meet with Allen for the custody exchange. The woman fired a gun during the exchange, striking DiagIe multiple times.

Investigation and Arrest

Detectives interviewed witnesses and Allen, but her statements have not been made public. Allen was taken into custody and booked at the local correctional center. Her bond has not yet been set.
