Shreveport Police have arrested a 14-year-old in connection with a tragic shooting that took place on Parkhurst Drive last Tuesday evening.
Shooting Incident and Victim
Police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Parkhurst Drive. Upon arrival, officers found a 15-year-old boy who had been shot. The teenager was immediately taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Investigation and Arrest
Detectives from the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit launched a thorough investigation. They discovered the shooting was the result of a fight between neighbors that escalated to gunfire involving multiple individuals.
The investigation led to the arrest of a 14-year-old suspect, who was charged with manslaughter and booked into the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center.

Police Chief Wayne Smith expressed the gravity of the situation:
