Breaking the law in Texas, especially when it comes to illegal activities like gambling, comes with serious consequences. Despite gambling being illegal in the state, there are always those who try to operate outside the law.
However, law enforcement is always vigilant, and recent actions have made it clear that breaking the law won’t go unnoticed. The Marshall Police Department recently took action against several illegal gambling operations in Harrison County.
Coordinated Effort Shuts Down Gambling Operations
On May 30, 2025, a coordinated operation led by the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force resulted in the closure of seven illegal gambling operations.
This was the culmination of a lengthy investigation targeting businesses that were unlawfully operating gambling devices. The crackdown aimed to stop illegal gambling activities that were taking place in various locations around the area.

A total of seven locations were raided, with search warrants executed at each site. These locations were found to be operating illegal gambling devices, and the joint task force worked tirelessly to shut them down. The locations affected were:

What Was Seized During the Operation?
As part of the investigation, law enforcement seized a total of 70 illegal gaming devices. In addition to the gambling machines, officers also recovered methamphetamine during the raids, highlighting the broader scope of criminal activity that was being monitored.
Additional Investigation at Fina Gas Station
The crackdown didn’t end there. Just the week before, authorities executed a search warrant at a Fina gas station located on W. Grand Avenue in Marshall, after receiving a citizen complaint. During this investigation, 10 gaming machines were seized, further illustrating the extent of illegal gambling activities in the area.
Law Enforcement’s Stance on Illegal Gambling
The authorities involved, including the Marshall Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, and the Harrison County District Attorney’s Office, have made it clear that illegal gambling operations will not be tolerated in East Texas.
These agencies continue to work together to ensure that individuals who engage in unlawful gambling activities face the consequences of their actions.
This large-scale operation sends a strong message that Texas law enforcement remains committed to addressing illegal gambling in the state, ensuring that those who break the law will be held accountable.
