Every year, people living in Alaska receive a special cash benefit from the government. In June 2025, many Alaskans will receive $1,702 as part of this yearly tradition. This payment includes the regular Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) and an extra one-time energy assistance bonus. It helps families handle rising living costs.
What is Included in the $1,702 Payment?
The total payment of $1,702 is made up of two parts. First, the regular PFD is $1,403.83. This money comes from the state’s earnings through selling oil and gas. Instead of keeping all the profit, the state shares a part with the people of Alaska.
The second part is a special energy relief bonus of $298.17. This one-time help was added due to the rising prices of fuel and groceries. It is not a regular payment and might not happen again next year.
Who Can Get This Benefit?
To get the $1,702 payment, you must meet certain rules before March 31, 2025. Around 60,000 people are expected to receive the benefit. Here are the simple conditions:
You must be a legal permanent resident of Alaska.
You must have lived in the state for at least 72 hours during the last year.
If you were away for work or education, you might still be eligible.
You must not have serious criminal charges. If you were in jail during the past 12 months, you will not get the money.
When Will the Money Be Paid?
The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation is handling all the payments. People who applied early have already received their money. Those who applied late will get their payment between June 18 and the end of June 2025.
The money will be sent directly to your bank account. If you do not receive it by the end of June, you should contact the authorities. It could be due to a mistake in your bank details or a problem with your application.
