WICHITA FALLS — A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for much of the KFDX viewing area on Monday and Tuesday due to strong south winds and dry grasses in rural areas.
After a pleasant Sunday, we’ll begin the week with more strong winds and what could be the hottest weather of the year thus far.
On St. Patrick’s Day, strong south winds and afternoon temperatures in the mid-80s will make you forget you’re in the Emerald Isle.
Strong winds gusting at nearly 40 miles per hour will increase the risk of wildfires. Tuesday is expected to be even hotter, with afternoon temperatures reaching near 90.
So far this year, the warmest temperature in Wichita Falls was 88 degrees on February 3. Friday looks like another windy day.
