The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank is gearing up for its first major food drive of the year, which organizers say comes at a critical time for families experiencing food insecurity. “Food Fight 2025,” the tenth annual event, will be held on March 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., bringing the community together in a collective effort to help those in need.
The food drive is a partnership between the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank (WFAFB) and the Junior League of Wichita Falls, which has helped stock shelves and fill pantries throughout the region for the past decade. Each item donated goes directly to feeding individuals and families in WFAFB’s 12-county service area.
Food Fight 2025 kicks off to aid Wichita Falls families
Last year’s Food Fight collected thousands of pounds of non-perishable goods, and organizers are hopeful that this year’s event will be equally successful. Community members can help by donating at designated collection points or making financial contributions to the food bank.
For many people in Wichita Falls and the surrounding areas, the food bank is an essential resource. As inflation and economic uncertainty continue to strain household budgets, demand for food assistance remains high. If you have any way to help this great cause, please donate food or money to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank or designated collection points between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on March 1st.
