The Justice Department has released new documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, revealing portions of his contact list. The documents, made public on Thursday, February 27, include the names of several high-profile celebrities and political figures, though none have been charged in connection with Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes.
Who Was Named in Epstein’s Contact List?
The unsealed phone book included notable figures such as:
- Michael Jackson (late pop icon)
- Alec Baldwin (actor)
- Naomi Campbell (supermodel)
- Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones frontman)
- Prince Andrew (British royal)
- Ethel Kennedy (late mother of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.)
- Andrew Cuomo (former New York Governor)
Additionally, the files contained 254 redacted names under a section titled “MASSEUSES”, raising further speculation about Epstein’s network.
What Do These Names Mean?
While some may find the inclusion of celebrities surprising, it is important to note that being listed in Epstein’s phone book does not imply guilt or wrongdoing. Many of these names were previously mentioned in court documents from a 2015 defamation lawsuit, which became public in January 2024.
A source told the media that the newly released information was “disappointing” for those expecting to uncover deeper political connections.
No Criminal Charges for Named Celebrities
According to Fox News, none of the celebrities listed in Epstein’s files have been charged with any crimes related to his sex trafficking scheme.
In 2016, Epstein victim Johanna Sjoberg testified that some celebrity names were mentioned during casual conversations while Epstein was on the phone. She clarified:
“When I mentioned them, it was while I was massaging him. He would get off the phone and say, ‘Oh, that was Leonardo [DiCaprio], or Cate Blanchett, or Bruce Willis.’ That kind of thing.”
What Else Was in the Documents?
The release follows statements from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who hinted at the impending disclosure of additional flight logs, names, and documents related to Epstein’s activities.
“It is pretty sick what that man did,” Bondi stated, emphasizing the seriousness of Epstein’s crimes.
Epstein’s Death and Ghislaine Maxwell’s Role
Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while in federal custody, awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges. His longtime associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was convicted in 2021 and is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in facilitating his crimes.
