Morgan Wallen Surpasses Taylor Swift Billboard Record

Morgan Wallen Surpasses Taylor Swift Billboard Record

Morgan Wallen’s upcoming album I’m the Problem is already making history, and the album hasn’t even been released yet! The country star is building excitement by dropping songs early, and this plan is clearly working. Several of these songs have already made it into the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 chart—even before the full album is out.

First Artist to Have 5 Songs From an Unreleased Album in Billboard Top 10

Morgan Wallen just broke a big record. With his new song “Just in Case” landing at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, he has now become the first artist in history to have five songs from an unreleased album reach the Top 10.

Before this, the record was held by Taylor Swift, who had four songs from her album Red hit the Top 10 in 2012. Post Malone matched that number in 2019 with his album Hollywood’s Bleeding.

Here are Wallen’s five Top 10 hits so far from I’m the Problem:

  1. “Lies Lies Lies” peaked at No. 7 on July 20, 2024.
  2. “Love Somebody” debuted at No. 1 on Nov. 2, 2024.
  3. “Smile” hit No. 4 on Jan. 18, 2025.
  4. “I’m the Problem” reached No. 2 on Feb. 15, 2025.
  5. “Just in Case” entered the chart at No. 4 on April 5, 2025.

Could He Make It Six?

A sixth song from the same album, called “I’m a Little Crazy,” is already doing well. It’s currently sitting at No. 17 on the Billboard chart. If it climbs into the Top 10 before the full album releases on May 16, Wallen could set an even bigger record.

Wallen Has Also Broken Other Taylor Swift Records

This isn’t the first time Morgan Wallen has taken the top spot from Taylor Swift. In 2024, he broke her record for the most non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. That happened thanks to his hit duet with Post Malone, “I Had Some Help,” which stayed at No. 1 for a total of 19 weeks (not in a row).

Back in 2023, he also beat Swift’s record for the most songs on the chart at the same time, when he had 30 songs listed. Taylor later broke that again with 31 songs from her album The Tortured Poets Department.

He’s Beating the Best in Country and Pop

Wallen’s success hasn’t just passed Swift—he’s also outshining other legendary artists like Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton. His blend of country music with pop appeal is helping him reach new heights and connect with fans across genres.
