The City of Wichita Falls is getting ready to welcome a new leader to its Parks Department. Starting Monday, April 14, Kalee Robinson will officially take over as the new Parks Director, bringing with her a strong background in parks and recreation.
Robinson Brings Experience from Lubbock
Robinson comes to Wichita Falls from Lubbock, where she worked in the Parks and Recreation Department for the past eight years. During her time there, she held several roles and made a major impact.
In her most recent position as Park Development Superintendent, Robinson managed over $18 million worth of Capital Improvement projects. These included building Lubbock’s first splash pads, installing new playgrounds, adding walking trails, creating a pickleball facility, and improving the city’s cemetery and Lake Alan Henry.
A New Chapter for the Wichita Falls Parks Department
Robinson will replace Terry Points, who retired on March 5 after leading the Wichita Falls Parks Department for over 30 years. His leadership shaped much of the city’s public spaces, and now, Robinson is ready to continue and build on that legacy.
Chris Horgen, the city’s public information officer, shared the announcement and praised Points’ long-standing dedication to the city.
City Leaders Welcome Robinson
Wichita Falls Interim City Manager James McKechnie expressed his excitement about Robinson’s appointment.
“Kalee Robinson’s expertise in parks and recreation management will bring fresh energy and innovative ideas to our public spaces,” McKechnie said.
With her experience in developing parks and managing large-scale community projects, Robinson is expected to play a key role in enhancing outdoor spaces and recreational facilities across Wichita Falls.
