Texas Man, 35, Was Arrested After Using Hot Soup to Burn His 67-Year-Old Girlfriend

Waco, Texas – A 35-year-old man, Alexander Alton McDavid, has been arrested and charged with multiple serious crimes after he allegedly caused third-degree burns to his 67-year-old girlfriend by spilling hot soup on her. The disturbing incident, which took place on April 3, 2025, has drawn attention to domestic violence and abuse of elderly individuals.

What Happened During the Incident?

According to local reports, the couple had been living together in Waco for about a year. The victim, who has not been named, told police that she had just heated soup in the microwave and was taking it out when McDavid hit the plate, causing the hot soup to spill all over her shoulder and forearm. She suffered painful third-degree burns.

The woman said she couldn’t call the police right away because she had no phone or car. It was only a few days later, while visiting the Social Security Office, that she managed to stop by the Waco police station and report the incident.

History of Abuse and Assault

During her statement, the woman also revealed that this wasn’t the first time McDavid had hurt her. She said he had choked her in the past, but she had never reported it before. Police took photos of her injuries and recorded her full statement.

As a result, McDavid is now facing charges of injury to an elderly person, continuous family violence, and making terroristic threats against a family or household member.

Aggressive Behavior Towards Police

Reports also say that McDavid became aggressive during his arrest. He reportedly acted violently and made threats, further adding to the charges against him.

As of April 7, McDavid is being held in McLennan County Jail on bonds totaling $130,000. Details about his next court appearance have not been made public yet.

Related Case in Wisconsin Raises Alarm

This case follows another shocking incident earlier this year in Wisconsin. A man named Gordon Laakso was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, Mary Laakso, reportedly because he claimed she “talked too much.” Police later found Mary’s body in a rural part of Polk County. Her death was confirmed as a homicide, and investigations are still ongoing.
