A Texas couple, Megan and Gunner Farr, pleaded guilty to forcibly tattooing their two young children while they were restrained, gagged, and blindfolded. The couple admitted to using a staple to tattoo the children, aged 5 and 9, before trying to scrub and scrape the tattoos off after Child Protective Services (CPS) became involved.
The Disturbing Abuse
The 5-year-old child’s foot and the 9-year-old child’s shoulder were the sites of the tattoos, according to an arrest affidavit. The couple tied the children up with rope, blindfolded them with rags, and covered their mouths with tape before using a pointed needle to ink them.
When the biological father and stepmother of the children saw the tattoos, they contacted CPS on April 17, 2023. Upon questioning Megan Farr, the father reported that she laughed before driving off.
CPS launched an investigation, which prompted the parents to scrub the tattoos with lemon juice and scrape the children’s skin so hard that flesh was removed.
Arrests and Charges
Megan Farr, 27, and Gunner Farr, 23, were arrested on April 24, 2023, after the investigation. Zavalla Police officials reported that there were visible injuries where the tattoos had been applied, confirming the abuse.
During their investigation, police discovered a tattoo kit and later removed the children from the home, along with their younger siblings.
Megan Farr pleaded guilty to injuring a child, and her sentencing is scheduled for May.
Gunner Farr’s Sentence
Gunner Farr pleaded guilty on March 20, and was sentenced to five years in prison on bodily injury charges and two years for unlawful restraint. His sentences will be served concurrently.
