I Did Not File a Report Soldier Never Informed Authorities That His Pregnant Girlfriend Was Missing, Then Married Another Woman Two Months Later, Police Say

A U.S. Army soldier from North Carolina has been arrested for allegedly murdering his pregnant girlfriend, dumping her body in a pond, and then marrying another woman just two months later.

Tyrique Zavier Leroy Williams, 26, has been charged with first-degree murder and concealment of death in the case of Annie Lock, 24, who was five weeks pregnant when she disappeared in August 2023.

What Happened to Annie Lock?

Lock was last seen on August 17 on Kiana Lane in Fayetteville, North Carolina, but wasn’t reported missing until October 10 — almost two months later. At the time, Williams allegedly told her family that he would file a missing persons report. But he never did.

When police visited their apartment during the early days of her disappearance, Williams told them Lock wasn’t home. According to her family, he gave no updates and remained silent about her whereabouts.

Shocking Twist: He Married Someone Else

While Lock’s family was still desperately trying to find her, Williams got married to another woman, shocking everyone who knew Annie.

“I questioned him in October,” said Lock’s sister Tanya Lock. “He admitted he never filed the report.”

It was at this point that the family officially reported her missing, and local police began a full investigation.

Body Found in a Pond

On Sunday, deputies from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office found Lock’s decomposed body in a pond in Red Springs, around 30 miles from where she was last seen. The discovery confirmed the family’s worst fears.

The pond is located near State Road 72 West and Buie Philadelphus Road, in an isolated area southeast of Charlotte.

Arrest at Army Base During Basic Training

On Wednesday, authorities arrested Williams at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, where he was undergoing basic training with the 35th Engineer Battalion. He had joined the Army and reported to base on March 12, several months after Lock’s disappearance.

He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and is awaiting extradition back to North Carolina to face charges.

Heartbreak for the Family

Lock’s mother, Tanya Whitehead, broke down during an interview:

“I found this out on my birthday… that my child was gone. She never did anything wrong. You took someone from her family.”

Lock’s family had to go through months of pain and confusion before learning the truth about what happened to their daughter.

Police Still Investigating Cause and Motive

As of now, the police have not revealed the exact cause of death or a motive for the murder. However, neighbors had reported signs of domestic issues, saying the couple often fought outside the home.

“They would be outside pushing each other and stuff like that,” a neighbor told WTVD.
