The new USPS improvements aim to save $36 billion over the next 10 years by adjusting transportation methods, improving facilities, and making processing more efficient. Here’s a simple breakdown of what’s expected:

Faster Packages May Also Be Coming—But Where?
Aside from regular mail, the USPS is also working on changes that will speed up package delivery in some regions. In select—but currently unnamed—areas, packages could be delivered within 2 to 3 days, which would be a significant improvement over current wait times.
These faster shipping speeds are part of USPS’s broader plan to modernize and compete with private carriers like FedEx, UPS, and Amazon. But again, we still don’t know which regions will get this speed boost.
