Florida – In a deeply disturbing incident, a 29-year-old man named J. Nath has been arrested in connection with the brutal stabbing death of his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend, M. Molina, in front of her 3-year-old daughter. The case has shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about domestic violence and failure of protective measures.
Victim Had Previously Filed Restraining Order
Molina had taken legal steps to protect herself by securing a restraining order against Nath, following a pattern of stalking and harassment. Despite this, Nath reportedly continued to approach her. The situation escalated the day before the murder when Nath confronted Molina and her new boyfriend at a local mall, leading to a heated argument.
Child Found Alone and Covered in Blood
The incident came to light on Saturday afternoon when Molina’s 3-year-old daughter was found alone and visibly distressed by her grandmother at a residential complex. The child had dried blood on her clothes and face, prompting a swift investigation.
Shortly after, deputies discovered Molina’s body inside her car, wrapped in blankets in the front passenger seat. She had multiple stab wounds to the neck, torso, and limbs.
Nath Arrested, Found with Victim’s Items
Nath was arrested early Sunday following a traffic stop. He had visible defensive wounds and was found with several of Molina’s personal belongings. Although he claimed he was only returning her items, cellphone data showed otherwise.
Detectives tracked the movements of both Nath and Molina’s phones on the day of the murder, placing them together at Nath’s home and at the scene of the crime. His inconsistent statements and the physical evidence led to his arrest.
Child’s Statement Helps Police Understand Timeline
According to officials, Nath had breakfast with Molina and her daughter on the morning of the murder. The young girl later told investigators that her “mommy was hit in the head and sleeping,” a heartbreaking interpretation of what she witnessed.
Nath is now facing charges of second-degree murder and child abuse. He is being held without bond at the county jail.
Family Devastated, Calls for Justice
Molina’s family, overwhelmed with grief, described Nath’s behavior as obsessive and dangerous, and said warning signs were ignored. They are now demanding justice and calling for stronger protections for victims of domestic violence.
