A deeply disturbing video taken at a Minnesota playground is spreading online, showing a white woman repeatedly calling a young Black child the N-word, sparking outrage and calls for justice.
The incident occurred at Soldiers Field Memorial Park in Rochester, according to the Minnesota Star-Tribune. The footage, now widely circulated on social media, has triggered a wave of public anger and support for the child involved.
What Happened at the Park?
The video shows a woman—later identified as Shiloh Hendrix—being confronted by a man after allegedly calling a Black child a racial slur. She’s seen carrying a young child of her own while being filmed, and when questioned about her use of the slur, she repeated it multiple times and told the man it was “none of his business.”
“F you, n—,” she says in the video. “N—! N—! N—!”
The man asks why she would use that language toward a 5-year-old child, especially in front of children.
“If that’s what he’s gonna act like,” she replies.
She claimed the child had taken something from her own child, which she said justified her comments.
Online Response and Identification
As the video began spreading, it caught the attention of @tizzyent, also known as Michael McWhorter, a popular internet figure who exposes public incidents of discrimination and abuse. He stated that the man recording the video knows the boy and that their children often play together.
He also said in a follow-up that the targeted boy may be autistic, though this has not been independently verified.
According to McWhorter, after the camera stopped rolling, Hendrix reportedly continued yelling slurs and even told the man and his wife to “leave the country.”
Woman Raises $300,000+ After Backlash
Since being identified, Shiloh Hendrix has launched a GoFundMe campaign asking for $1 million to relocate, citing threats and harassment against her and her family. As of Friday morning, she had reportedly raised over $300,000.
In her fundraiser message, she wrote:
“I called the kid out for what he was. Another man… proceeded to record me and post the video. Now I’m getting threats. My personal information has been shared, my family is being attacked, and we may have to move.”
Despite her claims of feeling unsafe, many online commenters were outraged by her use of racial slurs in front of children. Critics have questioned how she could justify such behavior.
“Absolutely disgusting—and she’s a mom!” one Instagram user wrote.
“You have to be a different kind of cruel to do this to kids,” said a Reddit user.
NAACP Responds: “This Is Unacceptable”
Walé Elegbede, president of the NAACP Rochester Branch, issued a statement on Facebook condemning the incident and encouraging the community to help identify and support the affected child’s family.
“This is deeply disturbing and unacceptable,” he said. “We are here to ensure this gets addressed properly.”
At the time of writing, no criminal charges have been reported. The story continues to draw attention both locally and nationally as more people call for accountability and action.
