A Florida man is facing serious charges after allegedly opening fire on another man for “taking too long” to park in a tight spot outside a Miami Airbnb. The incident, which happened in April in the city’s Wynwood neighborhood, has led to attempted murder charges against 29-year-old Anthony Christopher Russian of Tampa.
Parking Dispute Turns Violent
According to Local 10 and WSVN-7, the confrontation unfolded late at night, around 11 p.m., when the victim was trying to carefully back a Toyota Tacoma into a narrow parking space. The man was staying nearby with a woman and his cousin when Russian, driving a Porsche Macan, pulled up behind him and began honking repeatedly.
After managing to park, the man reportedly got out of his vehicle to ask Russian why he was honking. That’s when things escalated.
Gun Pulled, Trigger Pulled
Witnesses and police reports say Russian told the man he was taking too long and pulled out a firearm, pointing it at the victim’s torso. The victim told investigators that Russian then pulled the trigger twice, but the gun malfunctioned and didn’t fire.
As the victim began walking away, a gunshot rang out. He said he immediately felt a sharp pain in his foot—indicating that Russian fired at him as he left the scene. The man was later treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
Following the incident, police launched an investigation and the victim positively identified Russian in a photo lineup. Russian was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder. Authorities have not disclosed whether any surveillance footage from the area captured the shooting.
Ongoing Investigation
The incident has shocked residents and visitors in the Wynwood area, a popular Miami neighborhood known for its nightlife and street art. Police are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
