After False Bomb Threat at Liquor Store, WFPD Makes an Arrest

A man from Wichita Falls is now in police custody after allegedly making a false bomb threat at a local liquor store. The incident caused concern in the area, but officials later confirmed there was no real danger.

False Bomb Threat Prompts Emergency Response

Emergency responders from the Wichita Falls Fire Department were called to a liquor store on Maurine Street after receiving a bomb threat. The area was quickly checked and no explosives were found, confirming the threat was not credible.

What Led to the Incident?

According to Wichita Falls Police Department Sgt. Jacob Vasquez, the suspect — 64-year-old Stanley Grider — was upset after being refused service at the store. Authorities say that in response to the denial, he made a phone call to report a fake bomb threat.

Police later tracked him down and arrested him for making a false report.

Legal Action and Charges

Grider is now facing a misdemeanor charge for False Alarm or Report, not a felony as previously mentioned. At the time of this report, he was still being booked and no bond had been set.

Correction Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Grider was charged with a Felony 3 Terroristic Threat, based on the initial details available. This has now been corrected, and the official charge is a misdemeanor.
