CalFresh Calendar: Payments of $1,756 Will Start on June 1st

CalFresh Calendar Payments of $1,756 Will Start on June 1st

This weekend marks an important time for many California families. Nearly 4.8 million EBT cards will be loaded with CalFresh benefits. CalFresh is California’s version of the federal SNAP program, helping people buy fresh, healthy food. For many families, this support is essential to keep their pantries stocked and their meals nutritious.

California has the highest number of SNAP users in the country, showing how big the need is here. The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) manages this program carefully, making sure help goes only to those who meet income and resource rules.

When Will Your CalFresh Payment Arrive in June?

CalFresh payments don’t all arrive on the same day. Instead, the date depends on the last digit of your case number. Payments are spread out over the first ten days of the month to manage the process smoothly. Here’s the schedule for June 2025:

How Much Can You Get with CalFresh?

The amount of CalFresh benefits depends on your household size and monthly income. These amounts stay the same until the end of September 2025. After that, the USDA will check inflation rates and may increase benefits starting October 1.

Here are the current income limits and maximum benefits by household size:

  • 1 person: Income up to $2,510, benefit up to $291
  • 2 people: Income up to $3,408, benefit up to $535
  • 3 people: Income up to $4,304, benefit up to $766
  • 4 people: Income up to $5,200, benefit up to $973
  • 5 people: Income up to $6,098, benefit up to $1,155
  • 6 people: Income up to $6,994, benefit up to $1,386
  • 7 people: Income up to $7,890, benefit up to $1,532
  • 8 people: Income up to $8,788, benefit up to $1,751

If your household has more than eight members, each extra person adds $898 to the income limit and $219 to the maximum benefit.

Important Update: New EBT Cards with Chip Technology

There is a big change happening with EBT cards this year. The old cards are being replaced with new ones that have built-in chip technology. This is to make your benefits safer and prevent fraud like card skimming.

The California Department of Social Services started sending out these new cards earlier this year and planned to finish between February and June. If you haven’t received your new chip card yet, you should contact your local CalFresh or SNAP office to get it replaced.

CalFresh is a crucial program for millions of Californians, helping families get nutritious food during tough times. Payments come based on your case number, and the amount depends on your household income and size.

The move to new chip-enabled EBT cards will improve safety and protect your benefits. If you are eligible, keep an eye on your EBT card and stay in touch with the local office for updates.
