If you are receiving CalFresh food benefits in California, June 2025 is just around the corner, and that means it’s almost time to get your next payment. CalFresh, California’s version of the SNAP program (food stamps), provides monthly help for low-income families to buy groceries.
But not everyone gets the money on the same day—payments are sent out based on the last number of your case number. Don’t worry if that sounds confusing; we’ll explain it clearly in this guide, along with payment amounts and extra food support programs you may qualify for.
CalFresh Payment Schedule for June 2025
The CalFresh benefits for June 2025 will be distributed from June 1 to June 10. Your payment date depends on the last digit of your case number. Here’s how it works:
- Case number ends in 1 – June 1
- Case number ends in 2 – June 2
- Case number ends in 3 – June 3
- Case number ends in 4 – June 4
- Case number ends in 5 – June 5
- Case number ends in 6 – June 6
- Case number ends in 7 – June 7
- Case number ends in 8 – June 8
- Case number ends in 9 – June 9
- Case number ends in 0 – June 10
These payments are automatically added to your EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card, which works like a debit card for buying groceries.
How Much Can You Receive with CalFresh?
The maximum benefit amount in California depends on your household size. Here are the updated amounts for 2025:
- 1 person – up to $292/month
- 2 people – up to $536/month
- 3 people – up to $768/month
- 8 or more people – up to $1,756/month
Your actual amount depends on your income, expenses, and eligibility, based on federal SNAP rules.

Extra Programs That Work with CalFresh
Many people don’t know that there are other food support programs available in California that can help even more. Here are some of the most helpful ones:
CFAP – Food Help for Immigrants
California Food Assistance Program (CFAP) gives CalFresh-like benefits to immigrants who do not qualify for federal SNAP due to their immigration status. Starting October 2025, people aged 55 and older will be eligible without immigration restrictions.
Even if you are denied CalFresh, your application is automatically checked for CFAP. In September 2025, many older adults will be added automatically to their household benefits through BenefitsCal or local offices.
WIC – For Women, Infants & Children
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) is for pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children under 5 who are at nutritional risk. It provides food, nutrition education, and referrals to medical services.
You qualify if:
- Your income is at or below 185% of the federal poverty level, or
- You already receive CalFresh, Medi-Cal, or CalWORKs
SFMNP – Farmers Market Support
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) gives electronic cards to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey at certified farmers’ markets.
Starting in 2025, this is open to:
- Adults aged 60+, or
- Native Americans aged 55+
- Income must be at or below 185% of the poverty level
This program does not affect your SNAP eligibility.
CSFP – Monthly Food Packages for Seniors
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) gives monthly food packages with fruits, grains, dairy, and proteins to seniors aged 60+ who earn below 130% of the poverty level.
No proof of income is needed—only self-declaration. You can get SNAP and CSFP, but not WIC and CSFP at the same time.
