Camp Fire still seeking summer camp volunteers amid success of Tom Foley Memorial Golf Tournament

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Mother Nature cooperated for the 2024 Camp Fire of North Texas’ Tom Foley Memorial Golf Tournament at River Creek Golf Course.

Teams were served a fish fry before taking to the course where the first, 10th and 20th place teams were awarded prizes, as well as a $10,000 “Hole-in-One Hole.”

Local Legends Music Fest kicks off this weekend to benefit Arc

According to Camp Fire Executive Director Erica Mundt, prizes were also awarded for the longest men’s and women’s shots and a closest-to-the-pin prize.

Mundt said hosting benefits like the golf tournament ensures that Camp Fire of North Texas can continue helping kids in our community.

“We do not receive money from our national headquarters. We are completely, 100% dependent on the community,” Mundt said. “This actually helps us buy material and pays for our counselors, and it goes for everything.”

Camp Fire’s Summer Day Camp is getting ready to kick off, and Mundt said they could use all the help they can get.
