Because of this setup, the storms will be elevated, meaning they’re not rooted near the surface, but rather in layers of the atmosphere higher up.
These elevated storms can still pack a punch — they may produce hail, even though surface temperatures remain cool.

After the morning storms move out, Thursday afternoon and evening should bring a quieter period with some dry time across the area.
More Storms Late Thursday Night into Friday
