If you’re planning anything outdoors over the next few days, you may want to keep an umbrella handy. The weather is set to remain unsettled through the end of the week, with multiple rounds of storms and rain expected.
Thunderstorms Return Late Tonight
Late tonight into early Thursday morning, thunderstorms are expected to redevelop across the region. These storms will form in cooler air north of a stalled front that remains just to the south. Because of this setup, the storms will be elevated, meaning they’re not rooted near the surface, but rather in layers of the atmosphere higher up.
These elevated storms can still pack a punch — they may produce hail, even though surface temperatures remain cool.
Quieter Weather Thursday Afternoon
After the morning storms move out, Thursday afternoon and evening should bring a quieter period with some dry time across the area.
More Storms Late Thursday Night into Friday
Don’t put your rain gear away just yet. Another round of storms is expected late Thursday night into Friday morning. Just like the earlier batch, these storms may also bring hail, so it’s worth staying alert if you’re heading out early Friday.
Chilly Rain Arrives Saturday
By Saturday, a pocket of colder air will move in, changing the weather pattern again. This will bring chilly rain across the area, keeping things damp and cool through the weekend.
Temperature Outlook
High temperatures for the rest of the week will remain on the cooler side. Expect highs mostly in the 50s and 60s, with some areas possibly feeling even colder during rainy periods.
