COTTLE CO. (KFDX/KJTL) — A child was killed in a one-vehicle crash over the weekend in which a 14-year-old boy was driving.

A 13-year-old boy from Paducah was killed on Saturday, April 27, at 10:45 a.m. on County Road 404, approximately 1.9 miles from Paducah, according to Texas Department of Public Safety officials.

The vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup truck, was traveling east on CR 404 when it departed the roadway toward the south. It traveled in the ditch alongside a fence, DPS troopers stated.

The truck then rolled, striking the fence and a power pole, coming to rest on its roof.
