Cooler temperatures finish the week, rain returns this weekend

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Wednesday starts breezy, with winds out of the south going 10 to 15 miles per hour and gusts up to 25 mph.

Those winds will start to weaken and drop back down to 5 to 10 mph as they turn more out of the northeast.

Those northerly winds will cool temperatures slightly for the rest of the workweek and into the weekend. Temperatures will fall from the 80s Wednesday back down into the 70s for most of the week ahead.

A few more clouds are expected for Thursday and Friday, and shower and storm activity will stay out of Texoma and mostly off to the east and southeast of the region. Areas in southeastern Texoma toward Clay, Wise, Young and Jack Counties will be the few spots that may see a stray storm, but the storms become more widespread by Saturday and Sunday.

Rain chances will still persist into the start of next week, but those rain chances will decrease heading into the workweek. Temperatures will also start to warm back up as rain chances decrease, climbing back up into the 80s and closer to average for the middle of May.
