Arkansas – In a deeply disturbing incident that has shocked Arkansas, a 34-year-old man named Daniel C. and his 28-year-old wife, Annie C., are facing multiple criminal charges after being accused of systematically abusing a teenage girl living in their home over a long period of time, forcing her to snort illegal drugs on multiple occasions, and subjecting her to severe physical and emotional cruelty.
Daniel and his wife, Annie, were arrested on May 9 and are now facing a slew of charges stemming from the long-term abuse of a teenage girl who lived with them.
The arrests occurred after the girl confided in a school counselor, revealing horrifying details that prompted a thorough investigation by the police department. Daniel faces charges of terroristic threatening, sexual assault, rape, allowing abuse of a minor, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
His wife, Annie, is charged with introducing a controlled substance into the body of another person, battery, terroristic threatening, allowing abuse, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
According to court documents, the girl claimed that Daniel indecently assaulted her repeatedly over three years, and that Annie not only witnessed some of the assaults and did nothing to stop them, but also escalated the abuse herself.
Annie allegedly stabbed the teen in the neck with a fork after failing to clean the dishes properly. The teen told investigators about his harrowing living conditions. She claimed she was frequently forced to sleep in a bathtub without a blanket or pillow, was fed once a week, and given only a glass of water.
The girl also informed authorities that she had a broken leg, but Annie and Daniel refused to take her to the hospital, leaving her to recover without medical attention.
Even more disturbing were allegations of forced drug use. The victim told police she was forced to snort illegal drugs such as fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, and methamphetamine.
She claimed Annie forced her to snort drugs at least four times and coerced her into participating in drug deals with the couple.
According to the affidavit, the girl was repeatedly punched, kicked, pushed into walls, and verbally abused. She claimed she told Daniel “No” during the assaults and begged him to stop, but her pleas were ignored.
The victim claimed that when Annie first witnessed one of Daniel’s indecent assaults, the couple “talked about it,” and Daniel then threatened to kill her. She explained that the threat contributed to her long-term fear and silence.
It wasn’t until April 2025 that the girl, feeling safer and surrounded by people she trusted to protect her, mustered the courage to report what had happened.
She told her school counselor that she couldn’t “live with the guilt of thinking it was her fault anymore.” That disclosure prompted law enforcement to launch a formal investigation, resulting in the couple’s arrest.
Both defendants were booked into the county detention center after being arrested. The teen’s relationship with the couple has not been publicly confirmed, but law enforcement has indicated that the abuse occurred in multiple undisclosed locations over a three-year period.
Authorities have not announced trial dates or whether the couple has entered a plea to the charges. The case is still developing as prosecutors prepare to seek accountability for what they call “years of calculated cruelty and exploitation.”
For the time being, the teen survivor is receiving support, and her bravery in speaking out may help bring justice after years of unimaginable torment behind closed doors.
