Congratulations are in order for Dave Navarro, guitarist of Jane’s Addiction, who married his long-time girlfriend, Vanessa DuBasso, in an intimate and stylish ceremony over the weekend. The couple’s wedding took place in the breathtaking Dunskey Estate in Stranraer, Scotland, setting the stage for a gothic, dreamlike celebration.
A Fairytale Wedding in Scotland
According to People magazine, the couple hosted a multi-day celebration filled with unique and memorable moments. The festivities included a forest ceremony, dungeon dancing, and even a bonfire on the beach. The wedding itself, which took place on March 29, embraced a “gothic, darkly romantic atmosphere,” as described by People.
Navarro (57) and DuBasso (31) had always dreamed of tying the knot at a castle, and they were immediately enchanted by Dunskey Estate. With its 2,000 acres of Scottish countryside, including an Edwardian castle and panoramic views, it offered the perfect backdrop for their big day.
DuBasso explained: “It exudes a moody, ethereal charm… it felt like stepping into a fairytale.” Navarro shared that they wanted the wedding to feel like a dream, “a place that embraced nature and transported us to another world.”
The Magical Ceremony and Rehearsal Dinner
The couple’s rehearsal dinner on March 28 was filled with black candles and deep-colored flowers, setting the tone for the intimate celebration. On the wedding day, the couple exchanged handwritten vows in a forest ceremony. The altar featured gold candelabras, white roses, and chandeliers hanging from the trees, creating an almost celestial ambiance.
DuBasso wore a dress with subtle black details, while Navarro chose an all-black outfit, reflecting their contrasting yet complementary spirits. DuBasso walked down the aisle to Debussy’s “Clair de Lune”, and after their kiss, fireworks filled the sky while Max Richter’s “Spring 1” from Recomposed by Vivaldi played.
Guests, including comedian Pete Davidson, enjoyed a seafood and filet mignon dinner, followed by traditional Scottish desserts. DuBasso’s favorite princess cake, with layers of sponge, raspberry jam, and vanilla custard, was also served.
The Celebration Continued
The celebration didn’t end after the ceremony. Guests spent time dancing in the castle’s dungeon, followed by shooting guns, bird encounters, a barbecue in the woods, and a beach bonfire. DuBasso said, “I wanted our last day to overflow with color, an expression of life.”
A Love Story and a New Beginning
Navarro and DuBasso met nearly a decade ago after Navarro saw her in a movie trailer and reached out to the film’s director for a date. DuBasso recalls being drawn to Navarro’s green chestnut eyes, tattoos, and dark comedic humor. They were immediately smitten, and DuBasso described Navarro as “the love of my life.”
Navarro proposed to DuBasso in a spontaneous moment in their kitchen at 3 a.m. — a sweet, intimate gesture that marked the beginning of their new journey together.
DuBasso shared that Navarro helped her find a way out of a self-destructive cycle, and now they both support each other through their darkest and lightest times. They plan to buy a house in nature, away from the chaos of the world.
As for their honeymoon, DuBasso mentioned that Navarro is excited to search for holy relics, a lifelong fascination of his. They may even try to find a location believed to hold the Holy Grail.
A New Chapter for Navarro
This is Navarro’s fourth marriage. Previously, he was married to Tania Goddard (1990–1992), Rhian Gittins (1994), and Carmen Electra (2003–2007).
