Donald Trump Shares a Fake Social Media Post That Says Joe Biden Was Executed in 2020

President Donald Trump recently reshared a post on Truth Social falsely claiming that Joe Biden was “executed in 2020” and replaced by “clones, doubles, and robotic engineered soulless mindless entities.”

These baseless accusations, originally made by another user and reposted by Trump on May 31, are entirely false. Joe Biden is alive and well, having served as the 46th President of the United States from 2021 to 2025. He ran for a second term but ended his campaign last summer after a high-profile debate with Trump.

In May 2025, Biden announced he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer that had spread to his bones. Despite the diagnosis, Biden expressed optimism about his treatment plan. “The expectation is we’re going to be able to beat this,” Biden told reporters during an event in Delaware, his home state.

Contrary to the false claim, Biden has not been cloned or replaced in any way. USA TODAY has contacted the White House for a comment regarding Trump’s repost.

Background: Trump’s History of False Claims

This latest misinformation follows a pattern from Trump, who has previously spread baseless conspiracy theories about past presidents.

Most notably, he promoted false claims that former President Barack Obama was not born in the United States, despite Obama providing his birth certificate. Trump publicly acknowledged Obama’s American birth only two months before the 2016 presidential election.

The spread of false information like this highlights ongoing political tensions and misinformation on social media platforms.
