Elon Musk Tells Voters to Fire All Politicians Who Voted for Trump's Budget ‘Betrayed the American People’

Elon Musk made his frustrations known on Tuesday when he criticized the Republican Party for passing President Donald Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful’ budget bill through the House.

In his comments, Musk urged that all politicians who supported the bill should be “fired” in the upcoming November elections. His remarks came just days after he left his role in the Trump administration, following a relatively cordial departure from the Oval Office.

Musk’s Strong Remarks on the GOP Budget Bill

Musk’s comments were made on social media, where he shared a post from another X user who voiced strong disapproval of the GOP’s actions. Musk, in turn, responded, “In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people.”

His frustration was aimed at Republicans, accusing them of engaging in what he deemed irresponsible and excessive spending, with little regard for the people they represent.

The Criticism of the GOP and Its Spending

The social media post that Musk shared listed several grievances against the Republican Party:

  1. Spending millions on luxury hotels in Ukraine.
  2. Failing to take action on Dogecoin cuts.
  3. Spending 60% of their time on vacation.
  4. Not codifying executive orders.

The post criticized the GOP for failing to live up to its promises, especially in terms of fiscal responsibility and major reforms. Musk agreed with these sentiments, further fueling his call for a change in leadership.

Musk Calls the Bill a “Disgusting Abomination”

Earlier in the day, Musk had expressed his disdain for the bill by labeling it a “disgusting abomination.” He took to social media to write, “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.

This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

Support for Reps. Thomas Massie and Warren Davidson

Musk’s harsh criticism was directed at nearly all of the Republican House members who voted for the bill, with a few exceptions. He singled out Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Warren Davidson of Ohio, praising them for their opposition to the bill.

Massie had been an outspoken critic, arguing that the bill represented continued high levels of spending under Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Joe Biden while doing little to address tax cuts or the growing national deficit.

A Shared Concern: Spending and Debt

Musk also shared a post from Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a fellow libertarian who expressed concerns about the bill’s tax cuts and the $5 trillion in new debt it would create.

Paul stated, “I want to see the tax cuts made permanent, but I also want to see the $5 trillion in new debt removed from the bill.” Musk responded with a simple, “Thank you,” showing his alignment with Paul’s stance on reducing debt and fiscal responsibility.

Tensions with Trump’s Agenda

Both Massie and Paul have become targets of criticism from Donald Trump in recent weeks. Their refusal to back Trump’s agenda of cutting taxes while also increasing federal spending has put them at odds with the former president, who continues to push for major changes to domestic policy.

Musk, who has voiced strong opinions on fiscal policy, clearly shares some of the libertarian leanings of Massie and Paul.
