Enjoy Some of Texas' Finest Beers on National Beer Day

Every year on April 7th, beer lovers across the United States raise a glass to celebrate National Beer Day. It may sound like a made-up holiday, but it’s actually rooted in real American history.

Whether you’re a casual drinker or a serious beer enthusiast, this is the perfect day to explore new brews and support your favourite local brewery. If you’re in Texas, we’ve also listed the top 10 most loved local beers you should try today!

What is National Beer Day?

National Beer Day marks the day when the Cullen-Harrison Act went into effect in 1933. This Act allowed people in the U.S. to legally buy and drink beer and wine with low alcohol content (up to 3.2% by weight), which was a major step toward ending Prohibition—a time when alcohol was completely banned in America.

Though Prohibition officially ended in December 1933, this law made it possible to enjoy beer again legally after years of restrictions.

Even though this event happened long ago, the U.S. government only started officially recognising National Beer Day in 2017. Since then, beer lovers have used this day to try new brews, support craft breweries, and appreciate the craft of beer-making.
