For those planning to enjoy the festivities at Lindsey Park, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your celebration.
Lindsey Park, located at 12557 Spur 364 West, is the place to be for a fun-filled evening. The event is free and open to the public, and the gates will open at 3 p.m. The day will be packed with exciting activities, including live music, food trucks, vendors, and plenty of entertainment.
The highlight of the evening will be the spectacular fireworks show, starting at dark, around 9 p.m. Be ready to be amazed as the sky lights up with dazzling colors in celebration of America’s birthday.
Important Information for Attendees
Here’s what you need to know before heading to the celebration at Lindsey Park:
Park Hours: The park will be closed to the public until 3 p.m. on July 4th.
Entrance: The only entrance to the park will be through the gate on Spur 364.
Rules: Alcohol, smoking, and personal fireworks are prohibited within the park.
Parking: Parking is first-come, first-served, so it’s a good idea to arrive early. Carpooling is highly recommended to help reduce traffic congestion. You cannot park on the soccer fields, but once the lots fill up, parking along Spur 364 is allowed—just be sure to turn off your vehicle if parked on the roadside.
Traffic: Officers and City staff will be on-site to direct traffic and help with parking. Be sure to follow all instructions to keep the event running smoothly.
Entertainment and Activities
The entertainment at the park will kick off in the afternoon, and there’s something for everyone. Music will be provided by DJ Karlos and Liz Montoya, setting the perfect tone for a fun-filled day.
Some of the exciting activities you can enjoy include:
Mini Golf: Head over to the Kids Fun Zone between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to enjoy free mini-golf!
Find the Flag Hunt: Explore the park and look for a hidden flag. Turn it in for a special prize!
Stars and Stripes Parade: Kids can join the fun and march around the park in the parade led by the Tyler Police Department. If your child wants to participate, they should meet at the Kids Fun Zone at 7:15 p.m.
Kids Fun Zone: Let the kids have a blast with various backyard games and activities throughout the evening.
Free Shuttle Service
Don’t worry about parking hassles! Starting at 6 p.m., Tyler Transit buses will run every 10 to 15 minutes, providing free transportation to the park from Tyler Junior College West Campus (1530 S SW Loop 323). Take advantage of this service and skip the parking stress.
