Flash Flood Warnings Extended

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has extended Flash Flood Warnings until 9:15 p.m. Sunday for Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Lee, Orange, Randolph, Moore, Montgomery, and nearby counties.

The heaviest rainfall, exceeding 5 inches, has been observed over western Chatham and Moore counties, with an additional 2 to 4 inches expected through the evening.

Drivers are urged to avoid roads such as U.S. 1, NC 87, and local routes near Pittsboro and Carthage due to the potential for rapid flooding.
