For Endurance House's Xpress Run, Runners Dress Up as Aliens

Runners of all ages hit the pavement early this morning at Memorial Stadium for the Endurance House Xpress Run, an annual event that blends fun, fitness, and community spirit.

This year’s race embraced an out-of-this-world theme, with the “Super Stellar” concept featuring aliens on awards and participants dressed as Martians. The event offered three race options: a 12K, 5K, and a kid’s mile, making it accessible for runners of all skill levels.

A Flat, Fast Course to Kickstart the Running Season

The Endurance House Xpress Run is known for being one of the flattest races in the area, making it a perfect season starter for runners shaking off the winter cold.

Cassandra Castro, manager at Endurance House, highlighted why the race is such a great way to transition into spring training.

“Because of the weather changing, this is one of the first races in the spring and winter season where runners can check their progress after the colder months,” Castro said. “A lot of people are just happy to be out here because they haven’t been running all winter.”

Supporting Midwestern State Cross-Country

Beyond the fun and friendly competition, the race had a bigger purposeall proceeds went to benefit the Midwestern State University cross-country team.

With continued support, Endurance House hopes to expand the event in the future. Plans include:

  • Bringing back a half-marathon route
  • Possibly introducing a full marathon option
