Four people displaced from home, two pets dead after house fire

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Four people have been displaced from their home and lost two pets after a house fire.

According to Wichita Falls Assistant Fire Marshal Jared Burchett, just after 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, firefighters responded to a reported house fire in the 2900 block of Pennsylvania Road.

When fire crews arrived, they said they saw smoke and fire coming from the back of the home.

It took about 45 minutes to get the flames under control, according to Burchett.

No firefighters were injured, but one person was taken to United Regional for smoke inhalation. Two pets did not survive the fire, but another cat and dog were saved.

The cause of the fire is unknown. No other injuries were reported.
