Greg Gutfeld Goes Off on Trump's Double Standard After Email Scandal

Late-night host Greg Gutfeld has openly criticised the mainstream media, accusing them of using double standards in how they report on political controversies — especially when it comes to former President Joe Biden versus President Donald Trump.

Gutfeld Blasts Media for SignalGate Reaction

Gutfeld’s comments came during his show, where he discussed the recent “SignalGate” incident. This refers to a situation where White House officials used the encrypted Signal app to talk about a military strike in Yemen, with reporter Jeffrey Goldberg being included in the chat.

Instead of seeing this as a major scandal, Gutfeld said the media focused more on the SignalGate issue while ignoring what he believes is a much bigger national security concernJoe Biden’s alleged cognitive decline while he was in office.

Book Claims Democrats Considered Replacing Biden Early

Gutfeld’s comments followed fresh claims from a new book titled Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.

According to the book:

  • Democratic leaders were already discussing replacing Biden as early as January 2023.
  • Some Kamala Harris aides even feared Biden might die in office, so they were preparing for that possibility.
  • There were internal concerns about Biden’s age, cognitive health, and electability.

Gutfeld Mocks White House Messaging

Gutfeld expressed his frustration, saying the public was being “gaslit” for years while Democrats claimed Biden was in great shape — even while preparing for the worst behind the scenes.

“The media told us Biden was vigorous, while planning for his demise,” Gutfeld said.
“At least Kamala had a pulse,” he joked, “though even that was a low bar.”

He also added:

“You expect us to care about a group chat about a terrorist strike, after four years of gaslighting us about a senile old man?”

Biden’s Withdrawal and Kamala Harris’s Short Campaign

Biden finally withdrew from the 2024 race on July 21, 2024, stating that continuing his campaign could hurt the Democratic Party by causing distractions and division.

On the same day, Vice President Kamala Harris launched her campaign and became the official nominee after a virtual vote on August 5, 2024. However, many felt this gave her too little time to mount a strong national campaign.

Despite her team’s confidence, Harris lost the election in a landslide victory to Donald Trump, who not only won the Electoral College but also the popular vote — a rare achievement for a Republican candidate in recent times.
