A Houston woman was brutally beaten to death with an iron, the impact so severe that the iron was discovered shattered in half next to her body.
Kristen Chavez, a 32-year-old woman from Houston, was found dead in her home alongside one of her dogs. Kristen, a daughter, sister, and paralegal, was the victim of a brutal attack that left her dead.

Chance knocked on a neighbor’s door, covered in blood and pleading for help, prompting police to respond.
POLICE WALK INTO A HORRIFIC CRIME SCENE
When the police arrived, they made a chilling discovery. Kristen appeared to have been severely beaten in the head with a clothing iron, which had broken into two pieces. Investigators also discovered multiple holes in the room’s walls.
“It feels like a nightmare,” her brother Devin Cervantes said.
Kristen’s family is now desperately fighting for justice.
“She was very ambitious. Loved to help people. Very outgoing. She never met a stranger,” her mother Laura Bell said.
VICTIMS FAMILY BEGS FOR A HIGHER BOND
Chance, who is being held on a $250,000 bond, is charged with murdering his wife. Kristen’s family, on the other hand, is fighting to strengthen or eliminate his bond in light of the heinous crime he committed.
Family and friends have started a petition to increase the current $250,000 bond.
