You never know who you’ll run into in Nashville. This time it was Ed Sheeran, pop music’s favorite redhead.
Sheeran was in Nashville over the weekend and decided to perform at Tootsie’s Bar and Orchid Lounge on Broadway, the city’s main strip.
He even carried his pink cowboy hat.
Sheeran was not scheduled to perform that evening, so bar patrons were in for a real treat when he hopped up to sing.
“This is why I love Nashville, you never know who might just show up,” one person writes in the social media comments section.
“And people still have the nerve to ask me why would I move here instead of just flying in and flying out … crazy,” a different individual remarks.
Sheeran performed several songs, beginning with his hit “Perfect.” Other videos online show him performing “Thinking Out Loud” and “Shape of You,” including this one below.

He really brought the house down when he jumped on the bar to perform “Shape of You,” and many fans sang along.
Some speculated that Sheeran was in town for a St. Patrick’s Day event, but the following day, he was spotted at The Bluebird Cafe, sharing a stage with Megan Moroney, explaining his visit.
Sheeran is also known for writing hits for other artists, including Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” and The Weeknd’s “Dark Times.”
