It's Going to Get F---ing Ugly, Man Shoots His Ex-girlfriend After She Tells Him They Must Part Ways After Chili's Meetup, Police Say

A 26-year-old woman in San Antonio, Texas, is recovering in hospital after her ex-boyfriend allegedly shot her four times during a violent attack. According to police, the man opened fire after the woman told him it was time for them to stop seeing each other, following a casual dinner at Chili’s Grill & Bar.

Shooter Identified as Isaac Rivas

The alleged attacker, Isaac Rivas, also 26, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The incident took place late Wednesday night, and the victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries over the weekend.

Her name has not been released, and her current condition was still unknown as of Monday.

The Chili’s Meetup That Turned Violent

According to police, Rivas and the woman had been meeting up weekly as friends after previously breaking off their relationship. On Wednesday night, they had dinner at a local Chili’s restaurant, where the woman reportedly told Rivas that they should “go their separate ways.”

After dinner, she was driving Rivas in her truck when she asked where he wanted to be dropped off. That’s when things turned aggressive, police say.

“It’s going to get f—ing ugly if you don’t take me where you’re going,” Rivas allegedly warned her, as stated in his arrest affidavit.

Victim Tries to Escape to Bar for Safety

Afraid for her safety, the woman pulled into the Nite Owlz Bar on Rigsby Avenue and ran inside to avoid Rivas. He followed her in and demanded she return to the truck, at which point she pulled out a bottle of pepper spray. Unfortunately, it malfunctioned.

According to reports, Rivas asked her if she planned to “do something about it,” referring to his demand to return to the vehicle. The woman said no and apologized, then left the bar and tried to run away to escape.

She Was Shot While Running Away

As the woman had her back turned and was trying to get away, Rivas allegedly fired 11 shots, hitting her at least four times — in the groin, hip, abdomen, and back.

He fled the scene, but was later picked up by his mother, who had reportedly come to collect him. Police arrested Rivas shortly after, and he was booked into Bexar County Jail on Friday. He is expected to appear in court later this week.
