Katy Perry Opens Up About Motherhood, What She'll Wear in Space, and How Pastor Parents Hated Her 'Disgusting' First Hit

Pop superstar Katy Perry is not only known for her bold music and famous relationships but also for her loving bond with her daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, who she shares with actor fiancé Orlando Bloom.

In a heartfelt interview, Katy opened up about her daughter, her new tour, and even her upcoming space mission — making it clear that she’s living her life to the fullest, both on Earth and beyond.

Katy Perry and Daughter Daisy Share a Unique Bond

Katy, now 40, described her daughter Daisy, 4, as her true soulmate. The two share a funny and special bond — including their shared love of burping contests!

She recalled, laughing, “We spent 30 minutes just burping and laughing in bed. She’s totally my child.”

Despite Katy’s global fame and busy life, she says her connection with Daisy is unlike anything else.

“There’s something that happens with a mother and child — it’s a love that never ends,” she shared.

Katy Perry Returns With “The Lifetimes Tour”

Katy is heading back to the stage for her fifth world tour, titled “The Lifetimes Tour”, which starts on April 23 in Mexico City and arrives in the UK this October. This is her first full album tour in eight years.

She admitted it won’t be easy to leave Daisy behind but added:

“Even if I only have a few hours a day with her, I make them count.”

The show promises to be family-friendly, filled with sci-fi vibes, flying stunts, and even a video game-inspired theme.

Her advice to fans?

“Wear comfortable shoes, stay hydrated, and bring your mum or grandma too!”

Katy Perry to Join All-Women Space Flight

Katy is also making history by joining Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket flight — which will be the first all-women crew to go to space since 1963.

The team includes Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez and four other women.

Katy joked that her first thought was:

“What am I going to wear?”
The answer? A blue flight suit.

She hopes her trip will inspire young girls and prove that there are no limits to what women can do.

Family, Faith, and Fame

Katy’s journey hasn’t always been smooth. Her first hit song, “I Kissed A Girl”, sparked tension with her Christian pastor parents. Her mother called the lyrics “shameful and disgusting” at the time.

But over time, her parents have learned to accept her choices — even her past marriage to comedian Russell Brand, which ended in 2012.

Katy is now focused on love, family, and music, saying:

“My life is a movie, and I’m the star of it.”

From Gospel to Pop Icon

Katy first released a gospel album under her birth name Katy Hudson at age 16. After it failed, she reinvented herself, using her mother’s maiden name — and made her pop debut at 23.

She says:

“Thank God I didn’t get success earlier. Rejection is sometimes protection, especially when you’re young.”

Today, with a stable relationship, a daughter she adores, and a career still going strong, Katy Perry shows she’s more than just a pop star — she’s a proud mother, performer, and soon, a space traveler.
