Lake Levels in the Area Are Rising, and More Rain is Expected

A weekend rainstorm brought a small but welcome increase to the lake levels of Lake Arrowhead and Lake Kickapoo. The combined lake levels rose by 0.1%, providing a slight boost to the area’s water supply.

Current Lake Levels

  • Lake Arrowhead: 68.2% capacity
  • Lake Kickapoo: 67.1% capacity
  • Combined lake levels: 67.9%

Although the levels are above the 65% threshold required for Stage 1 drought restrictions, the city remains under those restrictions until a city council resolution is passed to lift them.

More Rain on the Way?

A storm system is expected to move in Monday night, bringing more potential rainfall. If the system delivers significant rain, lake levels could rise further, possibly easing drought concerns in the region.

Why Are Stage 1 Drought Restrictions Still in Place?

Even though lake levels have improved, Stage 1 drought restrictions remain in effect because city council approval is required to lift them. Until a resolution is passed, residents must continue following water conservation guidelines.

Stay tuned for updates on lake levels and drought restrictions as more rainfall is expected this week!
