A MISSING woman was discovered dead stuffed inside a suitcase, just days after begging her mother to pray for her.
Pamela Alcantara’s remains were discovered on the side of the road near the border of Yonkers and the Bronx in New York on Thursday.
The 26-year-old was last seen around 2 a.m. on Sunday at her home, hours after surveillance footage captured her on the phone with her mother.
Her mysterious disappearance prompted a frantic search, and her body was discovered inside a red suitcase, according to ABC affiliate WABC-TV.
Alcantara’s family revealed that she was in the process of moving out of the apartment she shared with her ex.
They had been together for about three years before she ended their relationship.
Family members believe he became aware of her plans to leave the property.
Cousin Naysa Peguero claimed her ex-partner placed recording devices in her car and bedroom.
Peguero revealed details from a phone call between her cousin Alcantara and her mother.
“She said ‘mom I just want you to pray for me’ and that was all,” she confided to WABC.
She also stated that Alcantara’s Facebook page appeared strange.
“The only thing she had was her profile picture up,” Peguero explained.
Alcantara spoke with her mother frequently and spent most of her time with her church friends.
She was reportedly planning to attend a church event in Connecticut on Sunday.
However, she failed to show up, raising additional concerns.
Alcantara’s family searched the apartment on Monday and discovered that the bedroom was disorganized.
She said ‘mom I just want you to pray for me’ and that was all.

However, the rest of the property was clean.
Alcantara’s family has been devastated by what has happened.
“She was only 26 years old,” they informed News12.
“She had her entire life ahead of her.
“It is like cold water pouring towards you right now.”
According to The New York Post, Alcantara’s ex-boyfriend has been arrested.
They revealed that he was apprehended after his license plate was scanned.
It is unclear if he is been charged.
The family has created two GoFundMe pages to raise funds for funeral and transportation expenses.
One of the links, Help Us Lay Pamela Alcántara Rubiera to Rest, has generated more than $1,600 for the family.
“We ask for your donation with the assistance of the burial and transference of Pamela Alcántara Rubiera to the Dominican Republic to be next to her younger sister,” the post’s caption states. “We appreciate any collaboration.”
The family’s second GoFundMe page, Honoring My Sister’s Final Journey, received more than $2,700 in donations.
The caption read: “Pamela has been missing since Sunday, March 2, 2025. We called the NYPD and nothing happened, so we distributed fliers and spread the word. After 5 days of searching, we discovered her body.”
The family made a simple plea: “Please, anything would help.”
