Mystery Surrounds British Tourist’s Death in Turkey: Family Says Heart Was Missing

Mystery Surrounds British Tourist's Death in Turkey Family Says Heart Was Missing

The sudden and unexplained death of 28-year-old Beth Martin, a British mother of two, has left her family in shock and raised serious questions in both the UK and Turkey.

Beth fell seriously ill shortly after arriving in Istanbul, and died the next day. Her husband now claims that when her body was returned to the UK, British coroners discovered that her heart was missing—a claim Turkish officials strongly deny.

The mystery continues, with investigations now underway to uncover what really happened.

Beth’s Health Took a Sudden Turn After Arrival in Turkey

Beth Martin, from the UK, felt unwell during her flight to Turkey on April 27, initially thinking it was just food poisoning. But once she landed in Istanbul, her condition quickly got worse.

Within hours, Beth became delirious and was rushed to Marmara University Pendik Education and Research Hospital. Despite doctors’ efforts, she passed away the very next day, on April 28, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Husband Claims Turkish Officials Were Unhelpful

Beth’s husband, Luke Martin, says officials in Turkey were not clear or cooperative with him after her death. Shockingly, he also claims he was suspected of poisoning his wife in the early hours of the investigation.

Eventually, he managed to bring Beth’s body back to the UK, where things took an even more disturbing turn.

A Shocking Discovery in the UK

According to Luke, British coroners informed him that Beth’s heart had been removed before her body was returned to the UK. This raised serious concerns for the family, who were already grieving her sudden and unexpected death.

The claim has caused outrage and confusion, with many asking: Why was her heart missing? And if it was removed, who did it—and why?

Turkey Denies Surgery or Heart Removal

The Turkish Ministry of Health has denied all claims of any surgery or organ removal. Their official statement says Beth died from cardiac arrest caused by multiple organ failure, but they did not provide details on what triggered the failure.

They also insisted that no surgical procedure was done during her hospital stay, including no autopsy or organ removal before her body was released to the family.

Possible Medical Mistake Being Investigated

The family suspects that medical negligence may be involved. They believe it’s possible that Beth was given penicillin, even though she had a known allergy to the drug.

The hospital in Istanbul is now under investigation, and both British and Turkish authorities are looking into the case to find out if any mistakes were made in Beth’s treatment.

UK Coroners May Take Months for Final Report

British coroners have started their own independent investigation, but say it could take up to six months to find the exact cause of Beth’s multiple organ failure and to confirm whether any of her organs were missing or damaged before her body was repatriated.
