In a shocking incident in Port Jervis, upstate New York, a man was shot seven times but somehow managed to drive himself to the hospital. Thanks to his brave act, police were able to quickly track down and arrest the two men accused of the shooting.

Shooting Caught on Video in Quiet Neighbourhood

The shooting happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, when police say two attackers opened fire on the victim. The entire scene was caught on video footage obtained by News12. The video shows bright muzzle flashes in the darkness as the man was shot, reportedly while still sitting inside his car on a calm residential street.

Victim Drives to Hospital Despite Serious Injuries

Even after being shot multiple times, the injured man managed to drive himself to Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis. Due to the severity of his wounds, he was later transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for better treatment. Police have not yet revealed his current condition.

Suspects Arrested: Attempted Murder and Robbery Charges

Soon after the shooting, police identified and arrested the two suspects: John Selja (22) and Andrew Delrio (26). Both men have been charged with attempted murder and robbery. They are now being held at Orange County Jail with $500,000 cash bail or $1.5 million bond.

Neighbours Shocked by Violence

Local residents are disturbed by the violence. Brenda Wildrick, who lives nearby, told News12, “It’s really crazy. I just don’t understand what’s going on with the drugs around here. It’s horrible.”

According to police, all three men knew each other, and they had been parked outside Wildrick’s house for nearly an hour before the gunshots were fired. However, it is still unclear what exactly caused the shooting or why the two suspects turned on the victim.
