Early in the morning of Friday, May 10, 2024, police responded to a report of domestic violence on Parkdale Drive.

A woman at the scene who was crying told officers they had been at a casino, and Perez had been drinking all night.

When they got home, she said he got angry and began pushing her around and into walls, while shouting profanities, then began swinging at her.

She said when she tried to defend herself, he grabbed her throat and threw her down.

Police said two witnesses at the home and one watching by remote surveillance camera verified the victim’s account.

Officers said when they confronted Perez in the driveway, he turned away and uttered profanity.

When one officer tried to detain him, they said Perez began hitting the officer in his head over and over with his fist. Another officer fired his Taser into Perez but said it was not effective.
