One dead after car drives through a house in Graham

GRAHAM (KFDX/KJTL) — One person is dead after a driver lost control of their vehicle in Graham, sideswiping another car and crashing into a house.

According to Graham City Manager Eric Garretty, officers with the Graham Police Department attempted to stop a reckless driver near the Walmart on the south side of the city around 5 p.m. The driver failed to pull over and then sped away along Elm Street.

Then, the driver apparently lost control of the car near the intersection of Elm and State Highway 16, sideswiping another driver traveling nearby before crashing into a home. Graham police reported the driver of the sideswiped car was uninjured.

However, the suspected reckless driver was declared dead at the scene. The five people in the home the driver hit were treated on the scene for their injuries before being transported to a hospital for further treatment.

None of the victim’s injuries are reported to be life-threatening, though one person received trauma to the face and head as a result of the incident.

The Graham Police Department and Texas DPS have opened an investigation into this incident.
