A quiet morning in Wichita Falls took a sudden turn when a truck crashed into the front of Pioneer No. 3 restaurant on April 22, 2025. The incident happened just before the restaurant was scheduled to open for the day.
Luckily, no injuries were reported, but the popular local spot will remain closed for repairs.
What Happened?
Around 8 a.m., a woman driving a truck pulled into the parking lot of Pioneer No. 3, planning to grab a bite to eat. However, according to reports, she told police that when she tried to step on the brakes, they failed to work.
Without braking power, the truck crossed over the protective pipe barriers and slammed into the wall near the restaurant’s front door. Thankfully, the restaurant was not yet open, and no staff or customers were inside at the time of the crash.
As of now, authorities have confirmed that there were no injuries.
Pioneer No. 3 Will Remain Closed for Repairs
Following the crash, Pioneer No. 3 announced it would remain closed throughout Tuesday while they assess and repair the damage.
The owners and staff expressed relief that no one was hurt and are working to reopen as quickly as possible for their loyal customers. Updates regarding reopening plans are expected soon.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the brake failure. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s management is urging regular customers to stay tuned for further announcements on when service will resume.
For now, anyone planning a visit to Pioneer No. 3 will need to adjust their lunch or dinner plans — but thankfully, this story ends without any tragic injuries, just some unexpected building repairs.
